Crocker has eventful weekend at Gateway
It was a weekend of firsts for me at Gateway International Speedway in Madison, Ill.
I got called to the ARCA hauler for the first time on Friday night and finished in the top 20 [19th] in a Busch Series race for the first time on Saturday night.
Getting called to the hauler isn't something you should be excited about, but it was kind of cool....more.
When in Memphis, visit the 'other' King's place
I spent some time at "The King's'' house this past weekend, and I'm not talking about Richard Petty.
During some free time before the Truck Series race in Memphis I played tourist and visited Elvis Presley's house at Graceland. That's the nice thing about having night races and having the garage closed until 2 p.m., you can see the area a little bit....more.

There's room for women drivers in this kingdom
To be honest, I wasn't all that surprised last week when Richard Petty said women didn't belong in NASCAR.
Petty has the right to say whatever he wants. He's been extremely successful in this sport with seven championships. If that's what he thinks, that's what he thinks. It really doesn't bother me. A lot of people have that old-school mentality.

Making headlines not quite as easy as it looks
As I drove up to the Charlotte Knights' minor league baseball stadium on Tuesday for an appearance my public relations person, Toni McCray, yelled out the car window.
"I've got a driver in here," she said.
The guard was like, "Is she really a driver?"
I don't think she believed her at first. I get that all the time. It doesn't bother me. In all of NASCAR there are like 148 male drivers and two women drivers, so yeah, I probably would assume the same thing....more.
