It was a weekend of firsts for me at Gateway International Speedway in Madison, Ill.
I got called to the ARCA hauler for the first time on Friday night and finished in the top 20 [19th] in a Busch Series race for the first time on Saturday night.
Getting called to the hauler isn't something you should be excited about, but it was kind of cool....more.
I spent some time at "The King's'' house this past weekend, and I'm not talking about Richard Petty.
During some free time before the Truck Series race in Memphis I played tourist and visited Elvis Presley's house at Graceland. That's the nice thing about having night races and having the garage closed until 2 p.m., you can see the area a little bit....more.
Erin Crocker, who came with Kimmel on pit road with the same strategy in mind, also passed Coleman for second but had nothing for Kimmel, who drove away from the pack winning by a 2.214 second margin. Catch the race today, Sunday July 2nd at 3pm Eastern on SPEED....more.
Erin drove a solid race with a 16th place finish on the lead lap in her Betty Crocker sponsored Dodge. She utilized her 12th qualifying position to mix it up with the best of Craftsman truck all day on Saturday. Erin intends to build on the on-track experience as she pulls a double-header with the ARCA car on Saturday....more.
